What to Expect

  • Reflexology treatments are done fully clothed, but you will need bare feet
  • A typical treatment takes approximately 45 minutes, unless otherwise arranged
  • The treatment is done on a lying massage table or can also be done seated in a chair with your feet propped up. You will be covered with blankets to keep you warm and comfortable. Pillows may be used for added comfort at the head, knees or feet
  • At your first visit a client intake/wellness history will be done and we will go over the appropriate forms together. This is usually only done on the first visit. I will explain how the treatment will go, according to your case history and answer any questions you might have
  • Feedback during the treatment is encouraged, and of course, you can request that the session stop at any time, if need be
  • At the end of the treatment, we can briefly discuss how your treatment went; address comments/questions you may have and any findings from the treatment
  • After your session, I recommend that you drink plenty of water, rest as necessary and pay attention to your body for the next few hours/days. I will be in touch with you in a day or two to see how you are feeling and if you are experience any effects from your treatment
  • Various reactions may occur following a reflexology session. They are often very subtle, and are usually not recognized by many people as a result of reflexology. Many of the reactions are positive signs that the massage is part of a healing process; other symptoms are indicative of the body’s attempts to return to a state of balance. Symptoms usually last for 24-48 hrs and may include:
    • increased energy, relief from pain, enhanced sleep, more mobile joints
    • tiredness, emotional or physical release (crying)
    • due to elimination of toxins from the body, the following may occur: headaches, briefly enhanced pain followed by improvement, frequent or loose bowel movements, pimples or rash, increased mucus discharge
